1. For many years, steam has been used for essential oil extraction and alcohol extraction, which is achieved by passing steam through biomass (plant material), whereby steam volatile compounds are evaporated, condensed and collected in receiving bottles. Not only is this steam commonly found in organic chemistry labs, but it is also suitable for home extraction of essential oils.
2. Compared with HMK21, this kit provides an extra biomass flask between the Claisen adapter and the adapter. Clayson adapters are applied due to another inlet for adding additional water to the system without stopping using a separatory funnel as an additional funnel which can be replaced by an equalizing funnel or a simple powder funnel. Only water in the flask is heated to produce steam.
3. The glassware parts in this kit all adopt 24/29 standard conical joints, which are safe and convenient to seal, including two separatory funnels for adding water and separation, a 500mL round bottom flask, a 500mL flat bottom flask, and a Claisen adapters, one biomass flask, one 3-way adapter, one penny head plug, one liebig condenser, one 105 bend adapter, 16 ft rubber tubing, 10 fitting clamps, one cork stand.
4. The glassware are all made of high-quality borosilicate glass conforming to ASTM E438, thick-walled design, durable and reusable. Ground joints are precisely ground to US standards.

This is a steam distillation apparatus for producing essential oils. The glassware parts are all made of high quality borosilicate glass and annealed at 800 degree Celsius , can be heated directly in an open flame and can withstand typical laboratory thermal variations in Chemistry processes like heating and cooling.
The glass apparatus in this kit are with interchangeable taper joints, the joints are precision grounded with an extra hand grounding process to ensure leak free.

3 Way Claisen Adapter This claisen adapter has two upper outer joint to attach the separatory funnel for adding liquid and the biomass flask. With one 24/29 lower inner joint to connect the distillation flask,the vapor will	Single Neck Round Bottom Flask The 500ml round bottom flask with taper joint was used as distillation flask in this apparatus,it can be filled with water and heated by a heating mantle . As an important part in water distillation apparatus, this flask from laboyglass is made by hand-blowing to ensure uniform wall thickness ,and it was annealed at 800 degree Celsius,can be heated directly in an open flame.	The 3 Way Distillation Flask The 3 way distillation adapter is used to connect the biomass flask and the west condenser in the distillation apparatus.


125mL Separatory Funnel with Two Joints There are two separatory funnels in this kit ,one is used as the addtional funnel with the claisen adapters, the liquid can be filled to the flask through the funnel, The other one is used to separate the oil and water,which is put on the receiving flask.
